AS ABLE AS KANE (AAAK) was initially started off in September 1987 as a short-term musical project. Having only just discovered Jim THIRTWELLS's FOETUS sounds and with Dingo training as a sound engineer, the two original members, Paul R. and Dingo, started writing tracks in the comfort of a 24 hours studio, with a wealth of begged and borrowed equipment. In the early days, they were still too ignorant of technology to be able to use it to its fullest and clung onto the concept of guitar based tracks, using synthetizers more for effect than anything else. As their knowledge increased though, they started became more competent with computers and samplers and so started to use guitars less and less.
