Short History, Discography & Links It all started back in 1981 in the very south of Belgium, near the Luxembourg border, lost in the middle of nowhere, when four school friends decided to start a band. DOLE was born. Named after a little town in the east of France, the band had no ambitions and were satisfied with covering their favorite songs. But things soon changed with the first gigs and the first applause. After several alterations, the lineup fell into place with Eric BUSSIENNE, Michel BIVER, Pierre ISTACE, Jean-Pierre KLARES, and Remy WILLIEME. The rhythmic section was completed by a drum machine. In 1983, the band went in the studio to record their first record, a four-track 12" EP. Although underproduced, the Belgian media welcomed it in a very encouraging way. Eight months later, in September 1984, their second single was released with Luc VAN ACKER as producer. It sounds an unquestionable improvement. Two major changes occurred to DOLE in 1985 which allowed them to evolve and to make head way. First, the arrival of drummer Marc RIDREMONT and secondly collaborating with Adrian BORLAND (THE SOUND), their new producer. (Source : Play It Again, Sam! - 1986) UPDATE 2008: They are back!
