Short History, Discography & Links History 1983. Chemlsford, Essex (GB). Three schoolfriends, disaffected by mass-marketed culture, create their own : Douglas MCCARTHY, Bon HARRIS and David GOODAY. NITZER EBB is born. They join forces with friend and conceptual artist Simon GRANGER to create NitzerEbbProdukt. Thankfully, having no formal musical education, they use the ressources available and relevant to their time, making machines work for them, to do what they want. Armed with a battered drum machine, a barrage of rhythmic sequences, Douglas on vocals, Bon and David on metal and percussion, they make their fiercely impressive live debut. By the end of the year, NITZER EBB is THE club sensation. 1984. A record contract is signed with Phil HARDING. First release, first hit. 1987. First album. Big hit. 1988. David GOODAY left the band and Phil HARDING stop working with them. Nguyen Duc NAHN becomes the new percussion hitter. Huge tout with DEPECHE MODE. 1989.
